The morning day was sunny. I spent most of the time updating this blog (or in fact uploading photos from the Vestmannaeyjar trip). Having selected some photos from the trip and enhanced them for the blog for a few hours, I became blinds with the numerous photos... So, I stopped and started to work on my tree, in particular its roots. In making the roots, I learned to make each line uneven, some part was bigger than some other. This was my attempt to imitate real tree roots in nature that never appear unvarying.
It became partly cloudy in the late morning and early afternoon. I now tend to believe the weather forecast made by the Icelandic Meteorological Office. So, for today forecast, it must rain at 6 p.m. This forecast made me decide to be out a bit in town. After having lunch, I left the residence for the city center a bit before 4 p.m. I just wanted to check the theme market held every Friday and Saturday from 2-7 p.m. at Hafnarstraeti square which I found the info on the English free newspaper Grapevine.
The roots of the tree before I left to the city center....
The route to the city led me pass the secondhand store Frida Fraenka again. Today, the store showed the two movable tables I like outside, one of which could be opened from top and had small boxes inside (similar to a sewing box) while another had 2 drawers (the lower was a basket). Seriously, I really wanted to have one of them; however, I decided that I would wait until TT come and would bring him to the store so that he could give his opinion whether it seems possible to take the table back to Finland. After a brief moment with these table, I could continue to the city. I dropped by at Edysson Bookshop on Austurstraeti to buy a magnet for C. I choose the viking red-cheek fat man with a dog made of plaster (395 ISK). Then, I continued to the market which turned to be just a group of people selling funky clothes. This was a sort of over-advertised again. Perhaps, advertisements in all the northern countries seem to exaggerate pretty much.
As the cloud became thicker, I was rather sure that the forecast would be precise. So, I walked back to the residence, dropping by the small convenient store around the corner to buy an ice cream cone (220 ISK). The taste was good and the size was right...
It was around 5.30 p.m. when I continued the making of the roots of my tree. The roots expanded and expanded during the 7 consecutive hour making. When noticing that the clock ticking 1 a.m., I suddenly became tired and decided to end the day.
